Lake Tahoe is
located in California.

Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake running along the border of California and Nevada. The1600 feet deep lake is framed with the Snow capped peaks of the mountains and is in contrast with the emerald green water. The lake is in fact, one of the purest water lakes in the world, with the water coming in at 99.99% pure!

The History of Lake Tahoe.

Gracefully clocking in at 2 million years old, it was commonly believed that Lake Tahoe had its origins from volcanic eruptions, but was actually formed by faulting (fractures in the Earth’s crust allowing land to rise and sink ) around 25 million years ago! Now it is home to around 53,000 long term residents, with this number surging during the peak season up to 300,000 people.
