Ironclad is an unusually robustly-built 50' 43’ 4” (lod) Canoe-Stern Full-Keel Cutter designed by George Buehler (renowned for his rugged, seaworthy designs) and built in STEEL by Fred Lagier & Sons (known for the robustness & solidity of their vessels).
Sailing out of California’s San Francisco Bay, she has,among other passages, cruised to Hawaii three times & Baja twice. Owing to her broad-shouldered build& design, she would be an ideal vessel for Alaska/British Columbia’s awesome Inland Passage & she would be fit for any ocean globally; this is a “go do it” vessel.
She features a powerful & reliable 85hp JOHN DEERE Diesel Engine (“nothing runs like a Deer”) installed New in 2005 , Full Double-Course Lifelines, Bowsprit with Pulpit, 6’ 8” Headroom, Hard Dodger (that gives the feel of a pilothouse), heavy-Duty Hydraulic Anchor Winch, more than adequate ground tackle, Roller Furling Jib, Tan Bark Sails, 3KW Inverter, 120A Alternator, Monitor, Auto-Pilot, Full Galley w/Refrigeration, enclosed marine head w/holding tank as well as a Settee w/Ship’s Table. She even has an extra set of usable sails!
Additional features include: VHF, Depth Sounders, Short Wave Receiver, RDF, GPS, RADAR, Chart Plotter and more. All systems are very straight-forward, uncomplicated & over-sized.
