Bow seats have always faced forward, but this Monterey solves that by utilizing a couple of removable bowrider seat bottoms in the wide pickle-fork bow to create three rear-facing seats.

There’s also a rear-facing lounger that transforms into a sunpad with the ease of a push of a button. One of the big-boat features is a large rear storage hatch, and paired with the massive centerline ski storage in the cockpit, you’ll forget about the dearth of storage under the seats. The huge low-slung dive platform wisely puts the boarding ladder on the driver’s side so they can monitor swimmer comings and goings.

One of the attention-getters is the Corian-topped refreshment center behind the captain’s seat, complete with a fiddle rail so your cocktail experiments don’t go sliding off. The helm is ultra-modern, including a racing wheel with a truncated bottom and an instrument panel that has enough separation between the main gauges for a color LED GPS screen.

Powered by Volvo Penta’s 5.7L V-8, which puts out 300 hp, you’ll be on plane in 3.7 seconds with minor bowrise. Where this boat really shines is in its cornering ability thanks to the 20 degrees of deadrise.
